Volunteers Needed!
The Quinte Children's Foundation is always in need of talented individuals like yourself, who are committed to helping others in their community. There are a variety of opportunities available that match your interests and availability.
Foundation volunteers obtain work-related experience, make new friends, have fun, and of course, help us improve the lives of countless disadvantaged children by offering their time and expertise.
Volunteers are also needed from Monday to Friday at the Foundation offices. Since our fundraising team is small, we rely on our Office Volunteers to help us get the job done. Volunteers can work with staff on our:
- Letter Campaign
- Community Events
- Purple Ribbon Campaign
- Administrative/Clerical support
If you would like to learn more about our volunteering opportunities, please contact us at 613-962-9291 x 8. We can't do it without you!!!
Does Your Group Want To Hold A Fundraising Event?
Whether you're one individual or a committee of twenty, you can make a difference by planning a fundraising event.
You can make a difference by organizing a fundraising event for the Quinte Children's Foundation. The possibilities are endless. Organizing an event is a lot of fun and is a great way to raise funds and awareness; however, they require a lot of planning and attention to detail. Follow the easy step-by-step guide to successfully plan your event.
1. Discuss ideas with family, friends and co-workers. Get your creative juices flowing. When deciding on an event be realistic about the amount of time, money and "volunteer-power" you have. You may not be able to do everything you dream of. Here are some suggestions:
- a) Concerts
- b) Garage Sales
- c) Karaoke
- d) Picnic / Kids Carnival
- e) Shows (Fashion Shows, Talent Shows)
- f) Sports events (fun run, bonspiel, baseball tournament, etc.)
But, don't stop here! Let your imagination run WILD!
2. Identify your audience. Given the type of event you choose, determine who's most likely to support your event.
3. Set a fundraising goal. Your goal should be realistic and measurable.
4. Develop a budget, based on your goal. Keep your spending to 12-15% of your overall fundraising goal. Understanding where you can save money means more will be raised for disadvantaged children.
5. Choose a date for the event. Schedule your event for a time which is appropriate and convenient for those who will be attending.
6. Register your event. Fill in the event proposal form and submit it to the Quinte Children's Foundation for approval. The form is designed to capture important information so that the Foundation can approve and acknowledge participation in your event.
7. Promotion and publicity. There are many ways to get the word out about your great event including word-of-mouth, letters, e-mails, posters or the media. Please submit all forms of promotion and publicity to the Foundation for approval prior to printing and distribution.
8. Hold your event and have FUN! With all your planning and preparations completed enjoy yourself.
9. Gather the revenue from your event. We ask that all revenues from your event be forwarded to the Foundation within 30 days of the event. Please allow three to four weeks from that date for tax receipts to be issued.
10. Recognition. Send thank you letters to everyone who participated in or supported your event. Let them know what a success the event was and how much you appreciated their help. If you like, we can help you with this.
THANK YOU! By participating and raising money for the Quinte Children's Foundation you've helped make life better for some of the most disadvantaged children in our community.
Thank you for all your help!
